Family Photos

The real subject of these pages is the music years - the fabulous 1930s when I was totally involved in performing music with my band, with my students, and sometimes as the drummer of another band.

However, I just couldn't resist the opportunity to share just a few pictures of the Taylor family. Above you see me with my three kids, John Frederick, Timothy David, and Kathryn Sue. This picture was taken in 1953, not long after Kathy was born.

Here are the two boys back in 1947, the year that Timmy was born.

To the right, little Kathy was all excited about Christmas morning back in 1959.

Still on Christmas morning back in 1959, anyone can see that Kathy isn't the only excited child.

We taught Timmy and J.F. to play the marimba when they were 5 and 8 years old, respectively. Their mother and I were proud when they won a citywide talent show in Barberton, Ohio.

I often referred to Kathy as Daddy's Little Girl because she was really special - always held a special place in my heart.

Here I am with Tim at one of the family's favorite vacation spots, Mammoth Cave National Park back in 1967.

Here we see the two boys and their mother. John Frederick and Winnie were both earning college degrees at the same time.

I loved animals! While the two boys carried on the Taylor legacy of music, Kathy carried on the legacy of loving and caring for animals. That was just one of the many special attributes of Daddy's Little Girl. She won countless ribbons and trophies with her horse, Dawson, and she did wonders with Melody, her pedegreed German Shepherd, including winning 1st place in dog obedience at the Ohio State Fair back in 1969.
