Oh, by the way...

What has not yet been mentioned on these pages is the fact that Winnifred Fletcher, a 12-year-old girl who was trying to find a way to avoid household chores over the summer, convinced her mother that she should sign up for the Orchestra School.

Her mother (Jesse Pearl Keeran Fletcher, wife of Dr. Edwin D. Fletcher) was trying to teach her daughter how to properly grow up as a woman and begin to take on women's chores like cleaning and doing the dishes.

However, Mrs. Fletcher was also supportive of the idea of having her daughter take music lessons, so the plot worked for Winnie. The pre-teen signed up for drum lessons with the percussion teacher, yours truly.
